Joli Vyann

Joli Vyann, are an innovative fusion of circus, dance and theatre blurring the boundaries of where each begins and ends. During my time working for Topright, I was asked to develop a website design for Joli Vyann that would showcase their new fusion style.

Aesthetics are crucial when designing a website. But functionality plays an even bigger part of the design process. Therefore understanding how a website is going to work in terms of its user experience, navigation and responsiveness is key to a good website.

A selection of large imagery was chosen and placed throughout the website. These are striking and engage the user immediately, helping to promote their work. The menu is simple and allows the user to navigate through the site easily. There are additional quick-links on the homepage to each of their shows to maximise user experience. User functionality allows for social sharing on the footer of each page as well as listing their contact details.

Blue tones were integrated across the dance website design at various different points. This helps to bring the site together and build consistency. The top left hand corners of boxes across the site have a unique ‘cut off’’ styling.

As well as the design, the client and developer were provided with a functionality guide. This included information regarding how elements such as a parallaxing footer, sticky menu and roll-over image states would work. Providing the client with this not only helps them visualise how the website may look before it is built, but explains more importantly how it will function to meet the needs of their site visitors.
